Summer Potluck Picnic

The Hackert Lake Association held their annual family picnic, Sunday August 13 at the Scottville Riverside Park Pavilion. Fun, food, games and prizes were enjoyed by all. Thirty-three people attended, providing a delicious variety of main dishes, salads and desserts. The silent auction was an overwhelming success.

Door prizes were hand-crocheted by Sandy Steckel. Julie Corby won the women’s prize, a beautiful set of Christmas placemats and matching coasters. Don Bradshaw won the men’s prize, a cozy pair of slippers. Reid and Briana Corby won the children’s door prizes, coupons redeemable at McDonald’s.

After dinner, Lori Gerovac led the children’s games. Each child won at least three prizes. The Association gave a donation to the Old Engine Club and in return the Club gave the kids, big and small, a ride on the Scottville Choo Choo. Mark your calendars now for next year’s potluck – August 12, 2001. All Hackert Lake Association members and their families are invited.
