Minutes of Hackert Lake Association Board Meeting
Tuesday, January 20, 2004

Meeting called to order @ 7:06 p.m. Present: Bob & Nedra Haupt, Sandi Steckel, Tony Swider, Gail Kowalski, Sam James, John & Linda Ochs.

Minutes from July Potluck / General Meeting were read and accepted as read.
Treasurer’s report was read: As of 12/31/03 the balance was $1,292.28
Expenditures and receipts were presented, accepted, and approved as read.

HLA was presented a check in the amount of $325.13. This money was left from the Chilberg Gas Association, which dissolved years ago. The monies had reverted to the State and through persistent efforts of Bob Haupt, they were finally refunded. The check made out to Ruth Gustafson and Dick Petersen was endorsed and the money was deposited into HLA’s general operating fund. Thank you notes will be sent to: Myrt Hackert, Ruth Gustafson, Dick Petersen, and Diane Sorenson for their co-operation and support in obtaining these monies.

The fathead minnow project has proven successful. Rick Gleason has allowed HLA to use his ponds to harvest minnows. The count for 2002 was 27,000. The count for 2003 was 45,000 . . . .totaling 72,000 for a 2-year period. Bob Haupt made a motion that HLA allow Rick Gleason to use our non-profit organization ID for a $400.00 tax deduction. This would benefit Rick and would not cost HLA. It would simply be a gesture to show our appreciation to Rick for the use of his ponds. Tony Swider seconded, and the motion passed.

Tony suggested we check the minnows in Pete Christenson’s pond.

John Ochs commented that the minnows are surely having a positive effect on our lake and suggested placing some in the East end of the lake. These minnows reproduce every 30 days.

Tony made motion that we buy more minnows in 2004 for a cost of approximately $350.00. Seconded by Sam James. Motion passed.

Bob Haupt reported he had met with Dave Hazenbank regarding the petition for a Lake Board. Dave said he will try to address and expedite this project.
