The Scottville Riverside Park Pavilion overflowed with people as families arrived for the Hackert Lake Association's annual family picnic on Sunday August 15. As the building filled up, latecomers were glad to find picnic tables strategically placed outside of the building. The food was delicious and everybody had a fun time. 45-50 people, including children, took advantage of the opportunity to meet new members of the Association and renew friendships with other members they hadn't seen for a while.

The children enjoyed competing for many prizes, as Lori Gerovac, wife of the Association President, led them in several fun-filled activities. No child went home without a prize.

The Silent Auction was a success. Stub Willick won the 50-50 drawing. Jane Jesuale won the door prize, a beautiful hand-crocheted afghan and Abby Greenslait won the children's door prize.
